1. About LG Smith Design

LG Smith Design provides mechanical and structural design, drafting, and reverse engineering services to businesses and individuals across the UK.
All services are offered on a freelance and project basis, focusing on producing fabrication-ready drawings, 3D models, and design coordination.

2. Quotes & Pricing

All quotes provided by LG Smith Design are free and without obligation.
Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Pricing may vary depending on the complexity of the project, design revisions, or changes in scope after acceptance.
Unless specified, quoted costs do not include materials, fabrication, or delivery.

3. Payment Terms

Invoices are issued upon project completion or at agreed milestones.
Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
LG Smith Design reserves the right to withhold drawings, models, or deliverables until payment has been received in full.

4. Design Ownership & Intellectual Property

All drawings, models, and related design files remain the intellectual property of LG Smith Design until payment has been made in full.
Once paid, the client is granted a non-exclusive licence to use the design for the specific project it was created for.
Clients may not reproduce, modify, or distribute designs for other projects without prior written consent.

LG Smith Design retains the right to display anonymised examples of work for portfolio or marketing purposes, unless a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) prevents this.

5. Accuracy & Responsibility

LG Smith Design takes every effort to ensure accuracy and detail in all drawings and models.
However, LG Smith Design is not a chartered engineering practice. Where applicable, all structural or safety-critical designs must be reviewed and approved by a qualified structural engineer before fabrication or installation.

LG Smith Design is not responsible for fabrication errors, third-party modifications, or site conditions beyond its control.

6. Revisions & Amendments

Minor design revisions requested during a project are usually included within the quoted scope.
Significant changes or redesigns outside of the original brief may be subject to additional charges, which will be discussed and agreed before proceeding.

7. Confidentiality

All client information, drawings, and project details are treated as strictly confidential.
LG Smith Design will not share, sell, or disclose project data to any third party without consent, except where required by law.

8. Cancellation Policy

Clients may cancel a project at any time prior to completion.
Where work has already commenced, LG Smith Design reserves the right to invoice for time and work completed up to the date of cancellation.

9. Website Use

All content, imagery, and designs shown on www.lgsmithdesign.com are the property of LG Smith Design and are protected by copyright.
Portfolio images are provided for demonstration purposes only. No content may be copied, reused, or distributed without written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

LG Smith Design shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use or misuse of any design, drawing, or documentation.
Total liability shall not exceed the total amount invoiced for the specific project in question.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
